Cat Scully's Biography
Short Bio:
Cat Scully is a queer author-illustrator of Gatsby meets Hellraiser BELOW THE GRAND HOTEL, her horror debut coming from CLASH BOOKS May 2025. She is also author of queer young adult horror series JENNIFER STRANGE, pitched as Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark meets Evil Dead. She's best known for her world maps, which have been published with Random House, Simon and Schuster, and Sourcebooks. Cat is originally from Atlanta, GA and now lives outside of Salem, MA where where she designs a spooky clothing line at HaintsandHollows.com.

Cat Scully is the author and illustrator of queer young adult horror series JENNIFER STRANGE, which released its first book of the trilogy in July 2020. She writes and illustrates horror, historical fiction, and dark fantasy for kidlit and adult audiences.
​
After starting her career as an intern for Cartoon Network, she has worked for 15 years in graphic design, motion graphics, UI/UX, and product design for video games, publishing, and entertainment.
She started work as a freelance illustrator in 2013 after her first world map was published in Claire Legrand's WINTERSPELL. Cat has since gone on to illustrate over thirty world maps for clients like Random House, Scholastic, Simon and Schuster, Sourcebooks, and more.

She adores a good London Fog tea, playing video games like Bioshock and We Happy Few, travel, learning new languages, and doesn't feel right unless her hands are covered in paint.
